2010 Dehcho Economic Conference and Working Forums

On behalf of the Dehcho Economic Corporation, I invite you to join us at the 2010 Dehcho Economic Conference and Working Forums. The 2010 Conference will be held in Hay River, Northwest Territories, March 16 – 18.

 

The Conference is geared towards all who are interested in business development in the Dehcho. It is for stakeholders, innovative companies, economic development officers, development corporations and emerging entrepreneurs who are interested in preparedness for work from the Mackenzie Valley Gas Pipeline and potential set asides.

 

The three-day event will open with engaging and informative keynote and plenary presentations designed to prepare delegates for maximum participation in the interactive working forums. Interactive working forums are planned to provide opportunity for delegates to discuss and learn about immediate action to be considered and/or taken to benefit from the Mackenzie Valley Gas Pipeline. Existing and emerging business people are invited to participate in professional business development workshops organized for day three of the conference.

 

A business networking event is organized for the evening of Tuesday, March 16. Plan to attend this opportunity to build new business relationships and generate business opportunities.


Dr. Manley A. Begay, Ed.D. is the conference keynote speaker. Dr. Begay is Director, Native Nations Institute and Senior Lecturer and Associate Social Scientist of American Indian Studies, American Indian Studies Program, University of Arizona. He is also co-director of the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.


Conference invited speakers sharing their business expertise and experiences, include Chief Clarence Louie, Osoyoos Indian Band; Catherine M. Twinn, Aboriginal Lawyer, Sawridge Band; Danny Gaudet, President, Deline Construction, NWT; Perry Kocis, Senior Aboriginal Advisor, TransCanada Pipeline; Navajo Nation; Helder Ponte, Director of Economic Investments, Ktunaxa Council, to name a few.
